Uncrowded Tropical Vacations
There are some of us who just hate being tourists when we go on vacations to visit foreign soils or beautiful places in the states. We can't stand the pushy crowds or the commercialism involved in tour groups. We abhor
all the trinkets and over-priced carnival-like attractions. For us, these things are just distractions from the real purpose of a vacation.

Many people love Hawaii and it is indeed a real paradise as far as the beauty of the islands. But some islands are to be avoided if one doesn't want to cope with heavy crowds. The big Island is a no-no, for those people. Maui is a good place for families, but Molokai is truly the place to go for an experience of paradise that still has much unspoiled about it. This island is dotted with little villages and fishing ponds but doesn't have much tourist development at all. It's suggested to book a rental in East Molokai where one can snorkel, sail, dive, swim, sun or just relax in peace listening to the surf and the sounds of undisturbed nature. The cottage rentals here run around $1000 per week, depending on the season. Consult the individual cottages to see what is furnished and about getting food for your stay.
